In keeping with our current mission to reduce the volume of unknown images ("ZZ-UNK-") in TOSEC, I'm happy to report we have identified and renamed 500 previously unknown images between our most recent release and the last.

Time for another round up I think...
Aral has started some Fujitsu FM Towns and Fujitsu FM-7 DATs, two platforms sadly absent up until now.
Cassiel has completely redone a number of DAT hierarchies, including Emerson Arcadia 2001, Luxor ABC 80, Luxor ABC 800, Magnavox Odyssey2 and Philips Videopac+. As well as this, they have also corrected many existing mistakes in Acorn Archimedes, Acorn Electron, Atari 2600 & VCS and Nintendo Famicom & Entertainment System, as well as removing duplicates across DATs and splitting legacy ‘Various’ DATs into proper categories.
Diaboł has corrected a number of publishers in the Texas Instruments hierarchy, and has most recently been working on the Atari ST DATs.
Duncan Twain continues to work on Commodore C64, correcting lots of duplication as he goes.
TKaos has added many new images to the Commodore C16, C116 & Plus-4 hierarchy, as well as making further updates to DEC.
Work is also ongoing to identify and remove any duplicated images across DATs, as well as the regular searching and correcting of errant characters and inconsistent naming.
TOSEC-ISO has seen some surprise activity (as much of a surprise to the main branch of TOSEC as the rest of the retro community!) with updates to existing ISO DATs as well as lots of new DATs using their new CD ripping tool: TruRip.
Aral continues to expand TOSEC-PIX at a relentless pace (rumours persist that he has shares in Western Digital and Seagate….).
You may have also noticed the inclusion of SHA-1 hashes in many of the newer DATs in our last release. Moving forward we aim to include SHA-1 in all our new and updated DATs, giving users expanded choice of using CRC32, MD5 or SHA-1 to maintain their sets.
So that's what's been going on, stay tuned for lots more TOSEC goodness…

Just a quick round up to let you know what's currently being worked on...
Cassiel continues to expand Sega Mega Drive, as well as adding lots if missing language flags to various Sega and Nintendo DATs. Additionally as a side project is also revisiting old and abandoned DATs, correcting and expanding naming where necessary and splitting into proper categories.
Diaboł coninues to add to the Texas Instruments hierarchy.
TKaos continues work on the Atari 8-bit DATs.
New contributors BlueArrow, dosjunkie and vicvan are doing some excellent work dumping new IBM PC floppies and verifying existing images.
Aral (with assistance from BlueArrow) continues to expand TOSEC-PIX, the most recent additions being to Amstrad, Philips CD-i and SNK Neo-Geo.
We are also experimenting with XML based DATs in order to free ourselves from the archaic low ASCII shackles of the current DAT format (and to allow Diaboł to get created with their proper name in the DATs!). This is still very much in the test phase.
So that's what's been going on since the last release. Apologies if I've missed anyone!
