A little Christmas present for everyone as we bring you the last TOSEC
release of the decade. Many of our members (not naming any names) are
getting a bit long in the tooth now so treasure this update as who
knows if any of them will still be around to bring you piles of retro
goodness by 2030! But now, just in time for 2020, we have been able to
exceed another milestone: more than 3000 dats available, so enjoy
those now and we will see what the future brings!
In all seriousness, we have a small and dedicated team but doing this
is very much a hobby and doesn't pay the bills, so we all have to fit
it in around our real lives and careers. We all know there's plenty
left to do and systems that we just don't have the time or expertise
to work on, but we're always open to new contributions. We have a
forum here and most of us are active elsewhere in the emulation
community, so if you'd like to have a chat about how you can
contribute to the project just get in touch.
Moving on to the actual business of the release, we've got the usual
substantial updates to Commodore C64 thanks to Duncan Twain, and some
equally sizeable Amiga contributions from Crashdisk and Mai.
mictlantecuhtle has continued to update the Apple II and Sega Mega
Drive dats, and it wouldn't be a TOSEC release without the addition of
some new and obscure system, this time in the form of the Toshiba
Pasopia. This release also features the first update in years to Atari
2600 from NLS, who promises a sizeable update to come (taking over the
world might take a bit longer than expected).
On the ISO side, tomse has put in some new additions to the Amiga CD
and CD32 dats, while maddog, our resident Dreamcast wizard, has
continued his tireless work to dump and verify even the most obscure
titles for that system. With some excellent submissions from Majorpbx,
we also had a nice update to the Arcade GD-ROM dats, most obviously
seen in a brand new Sega Chihiro dat. And for those that were on the
opposite corner of the console wars ring, we have provided some
updated GameCube dats to keep you busy.
This time 10 years ago [1] we were having to reassure people that the
project was still alive after two years of silence so it's a pleasure
to be here at the end of 2019 with a project that is still vibrant.
You may notice a familiar name at the top of that news item from 2009
and we want to take this opportunity to give a shout out to the
"silent" member of our team, PandMonium, who does all the real work in
putting together the release packs and fixing our stupid mistakes.
TOSEC is bigger than any one person but it's safe to say that without
his hard and often invisible work we would all be worse off.
From all of us here at the TOSEC team, we'd like to say Merry
Christmas, Feliz Natal, Frohe Weihnachten, Feliz Navidad, Joyeux Noël,
and all the best for 2020!

All folders and contents should be self-explanatory. All necessary
CUEs are also included. There are also some scripts included to assist
in creating TOSEC folders, and some 'move' scripts for those of you
using RomVault. As usual, be careful with long pathnames in some OSes.
Best advice is to use your folders as close as possible to the root of
the drive.
