Hello.
I had posted about a issue in
https://www.tosecdev.org/forum/general-discussion/tosec-dat-downloaded-zipi-file-always-corrupt/
not has any reply being ignored.

Thus I need say again about the issue.
When selecting to download the current release dat file in
https://www.tosecdev.org/downloads/category/53-2021-08-08
Downloading using browser own download manager or Free Download Manager is downloaded a file with size above 80 MB, but after when trying to open using 7-Zip or Peazip the file not is totally extracted.
Not issues with internet access, virus or other thing.
Each time that is done a download of same file the md5 checksum is changed.

Please TOSEC dev and web site manager not ignore that topic.
Really is happening a issue with the zip file.
What is the software used to create the zip file ?
Please add a option to also download a alternate 7Z file. Perhaps fix that issue.
I want use TOSEC, but is almost impossible :(

Thanks for read and have a nice day.

I've just downloaded the file, extracted using 7zip, and I have no problems with it.

Since you're the only one out of I don't know how many people who have downloaded and extracted,
who has a problem with it, I'd say you should again take a look at your own computer..

Perhaps you could try a VPN or similar service, or check with a different browser.
Disable antivirus, etc etc.

the checksum of the file you're linking to is
SHA1: C40C3FFADD78429A3986AF5C45BECFC932DCCBE8

since you have 7zip installed you can check the SHA1 value from the rightclick menu -> CRC SHA -> SHA1

Thanks for your reply.
I had tried download several times never completing the download.
Today I had tried 3 times both using browser download manager :

1 ) Using VPN failed download when reached 20 MB downloaded.
2 ) Not using VPN Failed download when reached 99 % download.
3 ) Using VPN finally the file was downloaded.

The SHA1 checksum is the same from your reply.
In any way really has a issue in connection, but not look being problems in OS because not issues with any other download.
Also I not understand if TOSEC server randomly stop connection for some IPs in ramdom time.
If is happen with others users I not see posts about it.

Even thus the TOSEC download server need verify.

Have a nice week.

There is no issue with the server or the download. You are the only person (that we know of) that has a problem with it.

Also, I don't understand how you can have correct hash but corrupted file.
Really look into your own setup.

What do you use to extract the zip?

"Also, I don't understand how you can have correct hash but corrupted file."
In the third try was completed download and finally a correct file.

Totally sure not is a issue in my OS.
Only was possible because I had downloaded after of midnight.
Is how if a connection to download server was disabled before finish the download.

Unhappily only has zip files for download.
TOSEC making 7Z files to download among with zip is very good because 7Z is almost 50 % size comparing with zip file.

The size of the dat zip is tiny to discuss this.
It will not change.
You definitely have a download issue.
