Update :Hi PandMonium, Cassiel, TKaos & the others,
I've finished the new Dat's for Commodore Vic20
I decided to use this DAT- structure :- Commodore VIC20 - Applications - [CRT]
- Commodore VIC20 - Applications - [PRG]
- Commodore VIC20 - Applications - [TAP]
- Commodore VIC20 - Compilations - Games
- Commodore VIC20 - Demos - [CRT]
- Commodore VIC20 - Demos - [PRG]
- Commodore VIC20 - Games - [CRT]
- Commodore VIC20 - Games - [PRG]
- Commodore VIC20 - Games - [TAP]
- Commodore VIC20 - Magazines
The multipart-files does not have it's own folders !That would make the DAT's
too confusingWe would than have this structure :
Games - [CRT] - multipart
Games - [CRT] - single
Games - [PRG] - multipart
Games - [PRG] - single
Applications - [CRT] - multipart
Applications - [CRT] - single
Applications - [PRG] - multipart
Applications - [PRG] - single
Demos - [CRT] - multipart
Demos - [CRT] - single
Demos - [PRG] - multipart
Demos - [PRG] - single
Commodore VIC20 - Compilations - Games
Commodore VIC20 - Magazines
again, that's too confusing !
So, multipart - programs have the additional
[multipart] at the end of the file-description
Now, some words to the "new" [CRT] = cartridges- it contains all files ,wich had the "old" extensions a0, b0, 20, 40 , 60 , 80, bin etc...
- a0, b0 etc... is the loading adress, where the files are loaded in the Vic20.
- but they are all cartridge-files !
- so, i renamed the files to "programname.crt"
examples for single-cartridges :Atlantis (1983)(Imagic)(NTSC)[
A000].zip / Atlantis (1983)(Imagic)(NTSC)[
A000].crt
Aggressor (1982)(HES)(PAL)[
A000].zip / Aggressor (1982)(HES)(PAL)[
A000].crt
examples for multi-cartridges :Cannonball Blitz (1982)(Sierra)
[2000][A000][multipart].zip / Cannonball Blitz (1982)(Sierra)
[2000].crt
/ Cannonball Blitz (1982)(Sierra)
[A000].crt
Apple Panic (1982)(Creative)
[6000][A000][multipart].zip / Apple Panic (1982)(Creative)
[6000].crt
/ Apple Panic (1982)(Creative)
[A000].crt
the multipart-programs [PRG] are now stored like this :examples :
zipped file :Bagdad (1984-11)(Compute!'s Gazette)[type-in][multipart].zip
unzipped files :- Bagdad (1984-11)(Compute!'s Gazette)[type-in][multipart].prg
- bagdad.f
- bagdad.p2
zipped file :Alien Vortex (1983)(Temptation)[multipart].zip
unzipped files :- Alien Vortex (1983)(Temptation)[multipart].prg
- zzalienv
you can see, that the second or third part of a multi-prg-file have no *.prg extension anymore !
This way, the programs will work fine in Vic20 / Emulator VICE !O.K. hope you understand and like the new structure

I've already add some new programs to the Vic20 TOSEC files,
but not all i have are added up to now !
I don't know, when you want to publish/release new TOSEC-DAT's for the world.......
But you can now download the "rewritten" old TOSEC-DAT's on the FTP / upload/Vicman/Commodore Vic20/
(it contains all files of the old SET (ca. 24 MB) , plus about 40 MB of new added files ! )
The new files are also available on ftp !
I'm still adding new files to the SET....think a few hundret will be come, soon

A great source for Vic20 - files is "mayhem's" Vic20-Gamebase, and "tokra's" type-ins from german-computer-magazines. (both members of Denial)
So, i want to thank both for their great work on collecting Vic20 games
btw.
all DAT's are created with clrmame v4.01 / deprecated format,
and all DAT's are checked with the
great tool TOSEC DAT Explorer v20110904
thanks for reading,
Vicman
