don't know if you saw it already but here you have a bit more:
just a small note, when you generate dats please clear unused fields in cmp so they don't appear in dat header like:
email "-insert email-"
homepage "-insert homepage-"
url "-insert url-"

ERROR - unknown trainer group - + 4 TRSI (set: Prehistoric Tale, A (1990)(Thalion)[cr TRSI][t + 4 TRSI] / dat: Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF])
extra space in trainer flag.

ERROR - unknown trainer group - Ache + Extensors (set: Sky Cabbie (1991)(Kingsoft)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr SR][t +5 Ache + Extensors] / dat: Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF])
ERROR - unknown trainer group - Ache + Extensors (set: Under Pressure (1991)(Electronic Zoo)[cr CSL][t +13 Ache + Extensors] / dat: Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF])
change " + " to " - "

unkown baddump descriptors: "checksum eror", "checksum errror"
that are errors i suppose :)

First i wish you a merry X-mas.
Thanks for pointing me, of course this are simple typos, it may happen, if i check thousands and thousands sets.
Have you fixed this errrrrrrrrors? ;)
checksum eror
checksum errrror
is of course
checksum error

Thank you for your hard work and for a possible release, if it'll ever happen  :D

Frohe Weihnachten to you too :)
I just fixed the header part because i don't know when you could do it.

The other errors i didn't fix it but if i need the dat and you haven't done it i will do it too, you just have to take care to fix it in your working dat too so they don't appear again.

As for a possible release, we are doing our best and hope someday it will be a reality, we will see ;D

(edited your post because you had a small mistake for now :P)

after scanning through mai's new amiga games dat, can someone confirm where the below 80 (!) files went & why...  filenames are correct as per my dat of 2009-09-04 - which was the confirmed last dat before mai's work.

dropping files should only be a very last resort, and anything that needed moving to another dat should have been done in the same release

Hello [IDORU]

I can confirm, that i have most of this sets moved to different dat, but its not included until now, because i am not able to rebuilt the dats without having the comlpete ADF files, maybe there is a way to rebuilt without owning the ADFs, but i dont know, how to do.
You can be sure, nothing is lost, tell me what to do.
I have also completely removed some sets, i have carefully checked the sets and it ended with removing the sets, because the sets contains nothing or really garbage.
I think, you should trust me in doing this job, i have checked every single disk and compared with various sources, no one has done this before, so the current release is a real improvment and progress.

by the way

Happy new year to all TOSEC members.

Hey mai, I'm not questioning your work & efforts which are appreciated - I'm asking as 80 files is a lot to drop from a dat without information - a few of them were mentioned earlier in this thread but not the majority.  Anything that moved to another dat should've been done at the same time as the new games dat, and it should only be a very last resort to remove something completely.  This also applies to a few other dats (ZX Spectrum/N64), not just you.

IMHO, the release shouldn't have gone out until all the files that were moving to other dats were re-included & those that were definitely being removed were listed but it seems some people had to get a release out & couldn't be bothered to wait until I returned from vacation. But I digress...

It's a simple process to edit dats in any text editor that preserves formatting (Notepad/UltraEdit for example, don't use something like Word), but if you let me know what moved where & the new names I can easily do it for you.

Hey all, i'm back.
I also agree with idoru for the removed setfiles, should have been moved right away to the new dats or people could loose them.
Anyway that already happened and things should be fixed now to be included in the next release, some mistakes also seemed to happen in some other datfiles too. You can just edit dats in text editors and do it, be careful because you have to make sure you get hashes and sizes and so on correct (if it is moving you just need to copy / paste it), i would recommend you not to use notepad with big dats because it will be really slow, ultraedit is great for example.

edit: idoru, i just edited your post because code bbtag is probably broken up but i haven't had time to fix it and php one works :P

Hello [IDORU], and sorry for delay,
I would be very grateful, if someone could do the job (editing the different dats), you have probably more experiences to do this.
What is the best way, to let you know, which sets needs moving to different dat.
I think i can create (small) dats an add as attachment, right?
If so, i will upload in a few days, then i have finished checking Letter "J".

sure, mini-dats for the files moved out of Games will be fine - that way the files will also preserve any namechanges you made to them - easier than making a list too ;)  I can then add the files to the "main" dats & send back to you to double check you're happy.

Thanks ;)

Don't know where you prefer it posted and didn't want to create a new topic just with these, if you want me to move this somewhere else like the Kodoichi topic or a new topic just say it :P

wrong use of media label, () instead of [] for h flags:
Code: [Select]
TOSEC_dats\Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2009-12-16_CM).dat
"Virtual Reality Studio v01.2100 (1991)(Domark)(h IP)[construction kit]"
"Patience III (1993)(Intersoft)(h Titan)"
"SimCity CDTV (1991)(Infogrames)(M5)(Disk 1 of 2)(h TRD)[HD, CDTV rip]"
"SimCity CDTV (1991)(Infogrames)(M5)(Disk 2 of 2)(h TRD)[HD, CDTV rip]"

in the same dat:
Code: [Select]
Risk! - Special Edition v5.50 (1994)(Hawkeye Soft)(tr dk)
=

Hello [IDORU],

I have added archive with dat files inside, so you know which sets needs moving.

Some Notes:
If you apply the changes to different dats, then the relevant dat probably needs additional editing.

Word Construction Set (1993)(Lascelles)(Disk 1 of 3)[cr SKR]
>>>>
Word Construction Set (1992)(Lascelles)(Disk 1 of 3)[cr SR][a]
crc 3607d304
I  would rename to [a], and i dont know, if you plan to rename group "SKR" to valid "SR", i have done so in ADF Games dat.

Attention:
Lord of Unicorns (1990)(Unicorn Software)(Disk 1 of 4)[cr QTX]
crc 0e4f48b8
probably needs renaming (disks 2 - 4 too)

done ;)  the updated dats are uploaded into your folder on the ftp if you want to double check them

couple of more questions though :-

1)  can you make an interim Games dat so that we don't have duplicate files that are in 2 "current" sets (as i noticed that some of the files are obviously due to be removed from a new update to the Games dat) ?

2) can you confirm the files below have definitely been removed ?

Code: [Select]
Omicron Conspiracy v1.0 (1990-10-19)(Image Works)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr Angels - Defjam][u][b errdms]
Perihelion - The Prophecy (1993)(Psygnosis)(Disk 3 of 5)[cr PDX][a]
Pinball BrainDamage (1998)(APC & TCP)(AGA)(Disk 1 of 5)(Boot)[b]
Pinball Wizard v1.0 (1987)(Kingsoft)[b overwritten files]
Rox (1990)(Gremlin)[h CLS][Action Replay freezefile]
Rox (1990)(Gremlin)[h CLS][t +1 Aurora][Action Replay freezefile]
Space War (1990)(Odyssey)(Disk 2 of 2)
Speedway Manager 2 (1994)(Mirage Media)(PL)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr Picco][a]
Stable Masters II v3.4 - 96 Season Update (1996)(ESP)[h Ultima]
Stable Masters II v3.4 - 96 Season Update (1996)(ESP)[h Ultima][a]
Stable Masters II v3.4 - 96 Season Update (1996)(ESP)[h Ultima][a2]
Thomas the Tank Engine (1992)(Alternative)[cr QTX][t +2 Metal Force][u][b]
Trivia Game Show (1990)(Impressions)[h FLT][u][b]
Wings (1990)(Cinemaware)[unknown - Reel 3]

3) where did these 2 files come from that were to be added to Games - Public Domain?  ;)

Code: [Select]
Neighbours - The Adventure (1992)(VideoBionics)(Disk 1 of 2)
Neighbours - The Adventure (1992)(VideoBionics)(Disk 2 of 2)

Ok, here are some info.

Quote
Rox (1990)(Gremlin)[h CLS][Action Replay freezefile]
Rox (1990)(Gremlin)[h CLS][t +1 Aurora][Action Replay freezefile]
I have re-inserted in "Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF]", because its probably not suitable for any different dat.

Quote
Stable Masters II v3.4 - 96 Season Update (1996)(ESP)[h Ultima]
Stable Masters II v3.4 - 96 Season Update (1996)(ESP)[h Ultima][a]
Stable Masters II v3.4 - 96 Season Update (1996)(ESP)[h Ultima][a2]
I have re-inserted in "Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF]", i have checked closer and set sets should be there.

Trivia Game Show (1990)(Impressions)[h FLT]
Wings (1990)(Cinemaware)[unknown - Reel 3]
I have removed for valid reasons, i have tried to explain somethere in this forum.

Reason: Title changed, Year changed, publisher changed.
Note: Moved to Public Domain.

Reason: Title changed, Year changed, publisher changed.
Note: Moved to Public Domain.

Meanwhile i have also removed this 2 sets:
Kick Off 3 (1994)(Anco)(AGA)[cr DLM][h GIN]
  • [HD]

C2296813
Reason: Its not an ADF, its an lha archive.

King's Quest V - Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder v1.000.000 (1991)(Sierra)(Disk 7 of 8)(6)[v Saddam 1]
B7375C0B
Reason: No files on  disk anymore, that means the disk is useless, i also know, thats probably possible to restore the files, if you have the knowlege, then do so, maybe you have a disk with excact same crc32 like a existing one.

This evening i will upload UPDATED dat "Commodore Amiga - Games - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2010-01-12_CM)"
