Here are some news of my vaporware "DMS-Workshop". It's been a year since I started this project and after a complete rewrite began in december, here is a list of what it can do:
- Unpack DMS to ADF
- Automatic decryption of DMS
- Merge any combination of files ADF, DMS (eg patch) and ABB (bootblock file)
- Fix overdump, underdump (no really a fix :-/ )
- Detect and decode damage of Saddam virus and Pestilence virus
- Detects many types of sector :
* X-Copy, PCopy, Tetracopy, ...
* DMS read error, Lamer Exterminator, Boot AIDS, Overkill, ...
* Damaged DOS block and somes other thing
- 3 levels of analysis for identifying the content based on a flexible database (currently over 100.000 ADF):
* CRC32 File
* Cylinder (80 for standard ADF)
* Track (160 for standard ADF)
- Identification of the contents of DMS damaged or encrypted (without repair or decryption)
- 4 methods of identifying bootblocks :
* ABR database (+1200 signatures)
* DWP lev0 (3 hardcoded) for F.A.S.T. virus (the position of the code changes each mutation!) and two variants of Quarterback Backup with identification disc number and date of creation.
* DWP lev1 (+1000 CRC32)
* DWP lev2 (+1000 pattern)
- DiskDoctor and DOScopy damage on noDOS disk
- Displays information about the standard disks:
Disk Format : Bootable DOS disk
- Disk name : <NightForceII_V2.50>
- Old disk name : <..................lsh_Tools>
- Filesystem creation : 1991.04.07 16h42
- Last root alteration : 1992.03.14 15h10
- Last disk alteration : 1992.03.14 15h52
- A batch mode for mass treatment
the study at the moment is the listing of files that are in good condition, deleted, lost, damaged, or small pieces ^^
I think a beta will be available in April ... without ><>
