about removing the akas, i don't have a problem with them but the ones renaming should decide and not me, for me there is no problem in maintaining them :P

Well all the [aka] are there for a reason, just like like [doujin] once were in the Sharp DATs so I don't really agree to just remove all of them because it's fast to "fix".

I didn't say anything about being "fast to fix".

They are there for a reason, doesn't mean it's a good reason.

Sure I just mean, think pro/con about it, for example if a german release got a german title it's not really bad to know the english title too by the filename and some other files I saw use english title and have [aka] with a different english title which is less necessary in my opinion.

I  agree Tkaos, having an [aka] on the equivalent non-english releases is an excellent idea and should be left as is.  It allows people that only speak english an opportunity to understand more about the background of the game and what it is similar to.  It is also important if a person in the future uses TOSEC as a platform to document all the varients of a certain game.  With the [aka] flag this will be able to be accomplished easily.

Indeed, I wasn't suggesting the aka's should be removed from all the files in the dat - more I was more asking if they were correct in being removed from the 3 they had been :P

(sorry for abusing this thread now but it fits here)

Following question:
Winter Olympiad 88 (1988)(Tynesoft)(GB)(Disk 1 of 2 Side A).atr
Winter Challenge (1988)(Thunder Mountain)(US)(Disk 1 of 2 Side A).atr

Do you think in such cases there should be a more info because it's the same game, just released under different names.

What is the so-called "emu crap" ?
Also why it's not "Dragon 32 & 64" or "Dragon 32 & Dragon 64" anymore?
There is as far as I know no "Dragon" computer.

emu crap = blank floppy's etc - u actually highlighted as well!

Dragon, like Amiga.... rather than: Dragon 32 & Dragon 64 & Dragon 128 & Dragon Professional & TANO Dragon 64

Not perfect, but better than prev + already used convention in other DATs.

Assuming cassiel didn't clarify with Pandmonium :- company = Dragon Data, system = Dragon

"Dragon Data Dragon - Complications" also changed to "Dragon Data Dragon - Compilations"

I will not be reviewing/fixing any more of the older or orphaned DATs (in the immediate future anyway).

Will be concentrating on the DATs I actively maintain (posted here for reference: http://www.tosecdev.org/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=13&jfile=index.php&topic=53.new).

The only DATs/system that I've made significant progress with (but not submitted) is 'Casio CFX'. If anyone has any interest I can share what I've done so far.
