Title: Datinate WIP
Post by: Cassiel on July 16, 2015, 10:51:37 AM
midget35 is currently writing a VERY interesting DAT tool that could also benefit TOSEC renamers significantly. I would strongly recommend taking a look and firing off any suggestions or words of encouragement to them either here, in the original RS post, or via email.

Hi guys,

I've been working on a new DAT tool. It aims to make viewing DATs easier, and has a very powerful filtering / search facility.

I put a site up for it here:

I'm hoping to put a demo video together, followed by a v1.0 launch. I'd like to hear from you all first, though. In particular:

What features would you like to see introduced?
What doesn't look so great at the moment?
What groups will benefit from Datinate the most, and why?

I'll keep tabs on this thread, or you can email me via the above site.

All feedback is appreciated.

Hi all.

This tool is still very much in development. I may post a new release soon. One thing I'd be interested in adding is a TOSEC-specific regex checker that looks for any formatting inaccuracies in the filenames of given sets.

As is the case with all developers - I am surprised this tool hasn't gotten more traction :)

If there's a way I can automate some of the manual labour, I'd be interested in facilitating it through Datinate.

I see a fair few posts on this forum where I think Datinate could add value. It isn't off limits to make informed requests for TOSEC specific improvements. So please: have at it.
