Sorry thats just ignorance from my part.. I'm so used to talking to people who know what SPS is that I forget it's not that commonly known ;-)

SPS is the Software Preservation Society http://softpres.org/

You should use the Contact form (and confirm the email you'll get for creating a ticket)
The scans they "require" do need the overflow edge a cropped image like the one you just posted will most likely be disapproved.

Even though we recommend 300dpi for new scans, we do not have any real restrictions on image quality for new scans.  If we had hundreds of people scanning for the project then we would stipulate how to scan like http://www.softpres.org/article:scanning:scanning_guidelines

Vicman, i am happy with whatever scan quality you have and would be thankful if they could be added to TOSEC-PIX.

I have attached a copy of an existing cassette as an example :)

Tomse - If you feel comfortable scanning at 600DPI that is ok with me :)

I only scan in 600dpi.
but depending on what I'm scanning the published material will either be 600 or 300 dpi.

Magazines will usually only be in 300 dpi whereas books, boxes, disks, tapes, manuals etc will be released in 600dpi.

I aim to keep the maximum size at 500megs.

Hi Guy's,
Good News :
I have permission to share the cover inlay's in 300 dpi.  O0

@tomse : sorry i have not the time for SPS , now.....
there are too many other projects i'm busy with... (like Gamebase vic20-reloaded, tosec, FE3-Collection for vic20, ecc2 / frontend)

@Aral : where should i upload the images ? Is gorski's ftp o.k. for you ?

Also what should be the paths/folder ?
Commodore VIC20/Artwork/Games/Inlay/Front/

i would like to name the Images this way :

Alien, The (1982)(Audiogenic)[Johncl_retrocollector.org].png
or :
Alien, The (1982)(Audiogenic)[Johncl][retrocollector.org].png

naming the scanner / source is a "must have" for me....
is this ok ? - which naming do you prefer ?

No worries mate.
Not much time for that is needed.. basically once a communication is started you upload to a FTP..

well, but there are 2 little problems :
1. the permission from the sanners is for tosec-pix. - don't know if they want to share them with sps.....
- i don't want to ask .......'cause i'm really happy to get the permission at all.....
- also, first the scanners were not very enthusiastic with my ask...because covers in high resolution could be abused to make money with rare games....

2. the scans i offer here are in 300 dpi not 600.

It's ok, no worries, it was only a friendly request if it was possible ;-)
I agree with you about the abuse.. so only SPS get's the side scans of my own scans.. they don't distribute anything.
