Title: What does SPS folder contain?
Post by: johnywalker on February 05, 2019, 09:10:48 PM
Hi Guys, I am trying to find information about the tosec folder structure and meaning of the directories.
One of them is SPS folder, what it is? What kind of files it contains. Purpose?

Thanks for explanation.

the sps folder contains IPF files, which basically are remastered masters.. if  a game has a disk copy protection, the ipf file will have this as well, and it's possible to write the protection back to disk using the right hardware.

you can read more about SPS here. http://www.softpres.org/

thank you very much for the explanation, so in other words (taking amiga software as example - game X):

- i can find game X which is dump of ORIGINAL (which was copy protected) in SPS folder (SPS is for copy protected dumps of ORIGINAL software)
- but at the same time I can also find the same game X cracked version for example, in ADF folder

that is correct..

in ADF you can/may find multiple titles of the same title.. i.e.

Game X cracked by Y
Game X cracked by Z
Game X cracked by M, trained

(naming simplified for readaility)

whereas you'll only find 1 title for each version in SPS, i.e.
Game X v1.0
Game X v1.1
