Hey bierbaron,
Well most of us around are not really informed about it too. We all work on TOSEC (main), with Aral on PIX. TruRip is a new dumping tool (still beta and private i think) created by some ISO members to sort out some dumping problems and (hopefully) finally create the best dumps possible.
Given the (stupid) fights and accusations between the 2 dumping projects over the years (about the dumping methods), most shouldn't be surprised with a little more bashing, although i don't support it or care (but again, i've never been involved on that so i don't really know all details).

That's it, after a lot of research and tests they (the ISO folks) developed a tool to finally create some proper dumps and so they will be redumping part (or all?) of it. That's all i know, Ripper006 can give you a lot more details about it. :)

Thanks for your reply.

Meanwhile, I have read a discussion going on elsewhere between Ripper006 and some Redump advocates (a mod intervened and put an end to it at some point btw :D) and I must say it's way over my head and I don't really understand all the quarrel about some "invisible" data too. Anyway, always good to have more sets to collect :P

There isn't any 'invisible' data, its BS. It's simply: you cant rip a perfect sub from 1 cd due to random errors etc.I think the coin finally dropped with Jackal, as he finally understands it why (seems the only one).
