IBM PC Beos and OS/2 ISOS and apps
« on: October 23, 2017, 07:57:18 AM »
I was wondering if TOSEC would be interested in archiving any BeOS or OS/2 operating systems for the IBM PC series that are either in Floppy IMG or CD ISO formats?

There is a lot of OS/2 stuff to save and a lot of BeOS stuff to save.

I've been trying to save as many oddball operating systems formats from the old 1980s and 1990s from retrohell where they all vanish and dissapear and people who want to run them can't because a floppy or CD got Bitrot or damaged or destroyed. I had a lot in my mother's basement that got flooded, and it prompted me to search for alternatives.

I might also have some Unix archives of old Unix versions for different systems. I collected a lot of oddball stuff that was not DOS, Windows, or mainstream operating systems that the general public knows about.

We are happy to add dats for stuff like that.
In fact, if you have a special interest in them, why don't you become a renamer and a member of the team? I am not sure that we have anyone that can be considered a Unix or BeOS expert ATM and your special interest (and quite possibly experience!) can be an asset for everyone.

There's one renamer working on IBM PC floppies right now, so you may cooperate with him to add your floppies. There's no rule preventing you from adding alternative OS systems to our dats.

Glad to hear from you if you are interested in this.  :)
