CU Amiga Magazine disks 161 - 182 contribution
« on: July 05, 2025, 09:44:13 AM »
Currently only up to disk 160 if CU Amiga Magazine is in the Commodore Amiga - Coverdisks - [ADF] dat.

You can find disks 161 - 182 here (not my dumps): https://archive.org/details/cu-amiga-cover-disks-adfs-raw-with-tiff-disk-scans

Please note though, that ALL dumps of disk 174 are bad (there were ten tries to dump it), even the one not saying attempt (it is the first attempt) on it. There are also plenty of non-matching dumps to add to the dat there.

The same person has also dumped other coverdisks and non coverdisks if that is interesting.

It seems that disks were released up to number 193, but I have never seen dumps of them anywhere, nor have I dumped them myself. I will buy and try to dump them if I find them (for a reasonable price).

Sources:
https://amr.abime.net/coverdisk_index_6 (lists coverdisks up to 193)

The site above is in general a great place for computer magazines and coverdisks, both for information and downloads, click "all magazines" in the menu, choose what magazine you want, then click "coverdisk index" if available (only on those with coverdisks) to view an overview of the coverdisks for that magazine plus download links. If you click on the issue number you will get detailed info about that issue.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, I've had the disks for a long time but the additions have started. However, in the absence of an alternative dump, it is difficult for us to determine the quality of the dumps (not to mention the fact that we're in FFS, which complicates things...)

I understand. Those higher ones are really hard to find to buy. Disks 20-60 or so seems to be most common. The highest one I have dumped is disk 152.

If/when I get some of them I will contribute for sure.

I've finished adding the CU Amiga disks.
Of course, no miracle for the 174 even if I created a reference disk which compiles the best of each dump (because they do not have all the same defects). Disk 175 was not good either, but I found a good copy.

Nice, thanx!

I bought some more Amiga Format disks to dump, some of them will hopefully dupe others to use them as verified dumps. Otherwise the chance of getting a future dupe goes up at least. Most of them are really early ones, starting from disk 1.

Here are links to more amiga coverdisk dumps he made (adf and raw mixed, he also has some with just raw which I did not include). There should hopefully be some dumps that are new to the database and others might be useful in conjunction with my dumps to use as verification of the dumps in the database. I will have all my coverdisks dumped within a couple of days.

He sometimes includes notes about the dumps that are important to read, just in case you missed it.
