Hello, I just subscribed to the forum because I translated Captain Blood for Atari ST into Italian (both the text and the speech) and I corrected some errors in the Italian "Primi Passi" Amiga tutorial. What is the correct procedure to submit these variations to the TOSEC project?

Hi Devil Master and welcome aboard,

You just have to contact someone around here and submit your hack, information about it could be useful to improve the renaming.
That's it! Unfortunately we don't have many instructions on how newcomers can contribute.

PS: someone means anyone active around here that is a member, myself, Cassiel, TKaos, Aral, Diabol and Duncan Twain and so on ;)

Devil Master - feel free to email me the image(s)/info and I'll get them redirected to the most appropriate person (probably TKaos or DiaboĊ‚): cassiel@redsplinter.com.

Thanks for the submission!  :)

Cassiel: you've got mail.
PandMonium: what do you mean by "information about my hacks"? Just a description of what they are? A description of what I did to the original files?

Thanks, got them. Very thorough background info btw!

I think PandMonium meant just to let us know what you've changed, but your email is more than detailed enough.

Since our next release is imminent (i.e. now built and being tested), these won't be included in that but they definitely will be included in the next TOSEC release.

Thanks for the submission!

I just want to point out that the details in my email about Juan Holz, Horasoft and AHA don't refer to what I have changed (mistakes within the program), they refer to a naming mistake made by whoever named that file, which I hope will be corrected alongside the addition of my modifications.
Instead, this is what I changed:

1) for the Primi Passi program, I modified the scripts to fix all spelling mistakes that were present in the original (commercial) release of the program and I modified an image that originally showed untranslated English words (while the rest of the program was already in Italian). In my modification, it shows Italian words.

2) For Captain Blood, first I used a hex editor to translate all in-game text to Italian and modify the intro text to show that I translated it, then I used a wave editor to replace the English in-game speech with Italian speech recorded by me.

Atari ST image added to DAT, will be in the next release.

Amiga image sent over to the EAB boys (they maintain the Amiga hierarchy) for them to check and add:
