:) I'm trying to rename some Box archives found in the web ! mostly in this site http://scenebase.org/collections/c64/sets
For each disk it's open in Dirmaster, test with many emulators (don't have a real C64), search the disk in tosec dat with dat Workshop pro, search in the csdb web site (for group and release) and rename

I found somes error with the cracker group.
For example this group are the same:
Triad and 3AD
Genesis Project and GP
Fairlight and FLT
Laxity and LXT
The Wanderer Group and TWG
....

Found new error

Tosec original name -> new name

"Found a intro of The Bingo Team [TBT] in this disks"

Quickdraw (1983)(M. Richter) -> Quickdraw (1983)(M. Richter)[cr TBT]
Quickdraw (1983)(M. Richter)[a] ->  Quickdraw (1983)(M. Richter)[cr TBT][a]
Quickdraw (1983)(M. Richter)[a3] ->  Quickdraw (1983)(M. Richter)[cr TBT][a2]
Quickdraw (1983)(M. Richter)[a4] ->  Quickdraw (1983)(M. Richter)[cr TBT][a3]
"so"
Quickdraw (1983)(M. Richter)[a2] ->  Quickdraw (1983)(M. Richter)

and just one question if a disk have a picture added -> [Pic] or [h Pic] or [m Pic] or nothing
an example with this disk in dirmaster:

0 r"chaos death cult" 00 2a
’19   "quick draw piccy" prg <--- it's a picture of the title screen of the game
112  "quick draw+2/3ad" prg <---- the game program cracked and trained by Triad (3AD)
533 blocks free.

soon first pack of new disks

sorry for my bad english

hey there SG-1,

If you want to help, may I suggest working from a todo list I'm currently maintaining? Renaming sets from scenebase helps, but it might be more efficient to work on clearing up the current collection. Why I'm asking? I've developed a toolset/database that can match any file on the net against the current Tosec collection. The current Tosec collection has many naming issues, clearing this up makes it easier to add files in future.

If you really want to add stuff, I also have a list of files from C64Haven that need sorting out (again half of this list can be matched, the rest needs 'manual' sorting).
I'll publish the C64Heaven list in my WIP folder so that you can have a look at it.

Thanks for helping!
DuncanTwain...

I'm testing, compare and rename the current database

Found these errors:

Cheers! Nice work, I'll process them this week. Do you also use PandMoniums DATexplorer? This tool can validate against the TNC.

 :) thanks Duncan Twain.
No i don't know this tool ! Is it the same thing than Tosec Dat Explorer ?
Actually i use
1 - DirMaster for the content of the disk
2 - CCs64, WinVice, and Hosx64 for testing and identify the disk or a PRG file in the disk (my c64 was passed  away, my son spilled a bottle of water  over :'( :'( )
( sometimes a rom don't run in CCC64 but run in WinVice or HOSX64)
 (CCS64 is better because you can rename the rom when it run it)
3 - DatWorkshop Pro for the dat
4 - Windows explorer for renaming the disk

 :idiot:

3 Wild Balls (1987)(Toni Luode)(FI)
3 Wild Balls (1987)(Toni Luode)(FI)[a]
should be
3 Wild Balls (1987)(Luode, Toni)(fi)
3 Wild Balls (1987)(Luode, Toni)(fi)[a]
or
3 Wild Balls (1987)(Floppy Magazinessa)(fi)
3 Wild Balls (1987)(Floppy Magazinessa)(fi)[a]

Toni Luode create the game but it was published in the "Floppy Magazinessa 1987-05" disk (Finnish title)
It's a rip from the diskmag put in 1 disk
The language case was bad (FI) -> (fi)

Cool, please continue!

If you want you can 'take ownership' of the 'games' category (in other words, I wont make changes to it until you're ready). If doing so, you should focus on D64 only. When I process your list I will make sure to include the other file types (like prg, t64 etc).

Cheers,

 :D OK i can take the charge of C64 games. I'm starting with the D64 roms.
Because there are a lots of roms.
First step for simplify the database, it would be wise to create sub folders for games created with software kit and public domain games
Games - 3D Construction Kit - [D64] (4 roms)
Games - Garry Kitchen's GameMaker - [D64] (59 roms)
Games - Public Domain - [D64] (927 roms)
Games - Pinball Construction Set - [D64] (224 roms)
Games - Shoot'Em-Up Construction Kit - [D64] (599 roms)

After this, test and rename each roms for this new folders
and then attack the big challenge to cleaning the rest of the database, starting with numbers - A - B ...
Once finished it will be time to add new roms from various sources !

What do you think ?
I think i create a WIP topic soon!

Sounds like a plan ;). Good thinking in splitting it up (Boulderdash has its own folder as well). Also, throw in the Games under Compilations.
Yes, create your own wip!
Btw, I've already cleanup 'Previews' under 'Games', will send you the updated DAT soon.
