Is there any way to get an email notification EVERY time a message is posted?

This would be hugely useful at work, and shouldn't cause too much of an overhead given the moderate/low volume of posts generally.

Yes, right here you have a link named "Notify", next to the "Reply" one that will do what you want for this topic (afaik).
When you're posting a message (not in quick reply), there is also a hidden menu called "Additional Options" where you can select "Notify me of replies". I've never tested it but i think it works as supposed.

Under "Profile" -> "Notifications and Email", you can manage these subscriptions and also activate this option for all of your posts by default. This is not active by default to all (new) accounts because i thought most users might find it annoying.

Give it a shot and let me know if it works as supposed.

Edit: I guess you can do that too on entire boards for any new topic.

Yeah, that’s how I have it set at the moment.

I was more curious about weather there was a ‘global’ option to have ALL posts emailed, but I guess not.

That would make sense given the extra traffic it would cause I guess.

Well, since we don't have many boards (less than 10 i guess) you can always go board by board and click on the "Notify" option for each one of the boards that interest you.
I suppose that board notification will sent you a mail for each new post in that board, even if you have not posted in the forum. A good thing for you to discover :D

Eh, doesn't seem to work unfortunately.

Didn’t get the post in the RomVault tread from yesterday.

Never mind.

That's sad, you were following all boards right? Did it work for any other new topic?

Yup, all boards.

Works for a new thread and any thread I've posted in, but not for an existing thread I have not posted in.

Might have to have another play...... not the end of world, just slightly disappointing.

Humm my last suggestion would be for you to go to your profile, "notifications and email" and uncheck one option that is on by default: "Receive reply notification only for the first unread reply."
According to the manual: "Receive Reply notification only for the first unread reply - Checking this will only send you a notification of the first unread Reply instead of every Reply made."

This may be the cause of the problem you described (hope so! :P)

edit: i guess what you want might be something like what this addon does. It surely creates a lot of spam for big forums with good activity so i guess that i understand why it is not something available by default. I may give it a try one of these days so you can get more spam :P

edit2: other alternative, that i don't know if you're aware of, might be RSS feeds. Not exactly the same but it could be a solution.
They are active on our forums, even if the layout sucks a bit and members are not aware about it (i should do some changes one day and find the reason for some bugs). If anyone cares, feeds can be used for a specific board or the entire forum, for example:
