I'm sorry if that question was asked before, but have you guys considered rolling releases (like Redump or No-Intro)?

Funnily enough, way back when, we DID have 'up-to-the-second' DAT generation including options for excluding on specific flags etc (VERY similar to No-Intro's Dat-o-Matic). BUT...

Nobody liked it.  :'(

Nobody could understand how it would/could 'work', or how could they find the latest update ROM 'pack' on USENET blah blah. Remember back then their was only really the GoodTools (with v0.123 -> v0.124 or whatever releases) and MAME, which was still split between MAME and MESS, and I'm pretty sure SoftLists were still a twinkle in Haze's (?) eye.

(Man I'm old)

Guess we were just ahead of the curve!

Who knows, maybe it will come back all shiny and chrome...
