Atari 2600 ROMs
« on: November 20, 2018, 05:58:15 AM »
It looks like the set is missing most ROMs after Ha, 1700 files are from 1-h and then around 300 are from h-z, couldn't be right.  Also, there are loads missing after h.  Has anyone got the rest of them waiting to be filed, and maybe went forgotten about?  Hopefully :-).

I have noticed the same.
There are way bigger collections for 2600, I hope someone merges them.

Right now, nobody is actively working on Atari 2600.
It passed through my mind to try and improve it at some point, but my time is limited and I eventually decided to put my personal effort on the PC Engine dats which were even poorer.
I don't see myself putting work on 2600 in the close future.

With that in mind, if you feel you have what it takes to become a renamer, please feel free to apply. :)

I can compare and import ROM Hunter.
They are 1897 items and by Matalog's statistic model, 755 1-z and 1141 i-z.
So with some overlaps, looks good.

Well not entirely true.

The full archive contains MANY duplicates.
Actually there are bins that are included FIVE TIMES in different folders.

In any case we should probably wait for #15 as we are already in November 20th and possibly next month he will release.

To get back to this I checked.
Actually the ROMs are the original number I listed.
ROM Hunter extra files are ALL duplicates.
You can delete the entire "HC ROMS" folder.
Only "3-D Havoc" prototype seems to be different, but I will actually re-verify that.
