C64 - EasyFlash
« on: July 12, 2014, 08:46:56 AM »
Since the easyflash cart has appeared, and support for it in 1541 Ultimate there's been quite a few releases for this format.

Are there any plans for adding these to the database?

Without counting I can see there are about 30-40 releases.
http://csdb.dk/search/?seinsel=releases&search=easyflash&all=1

I've made some suggested namings

Zak McKracken & Maniac Mansion (2011-03-17)(LucasArts)(cr Onslaught)(tr +1)[EasyFlash]
http://csdb.dk/release/?id=98674

Maniac Mansion (2011-02-07)(LucasArts)(cr Onslaught)(tr +1)(PAL-NTSC)[Mercury][Rev 2][EasyFlash]

Good idea! If you're willing to rename them I can add them.

I'll see what I can do :-)

how is the suggested naming?
should the cart category be divided into 2 now? crt and easyflash?

EDIT: I'm in doubt if the release date should be the original release date of the game/tool/app or the release date of the EasyFlash file.
I've done 13 files so far but before continuing I'd like to know if I'm doing it right.
I'm doing some of the other EF carts too (compilations, tools, demos etc) and there might be around 60-70 files in total with games, which can be a pain to correct afterwards.

I think that the release date should be from the original. You could always add the [more info] flag and put 'easyflash 2014-01-01' in or the like.
Did you upload the sample dat to ftp?

Hi Duncan and Team.

I'm just noting this down, so I won't forget it.. more info will come later (hopefully today), so no need to fix it yet until I get some things confirmed.

Can any of you please fix
Harald Hardtand -- <snip>
to
Harald Haardtand -- <snip>

The replacement for å -> aa, as is the replacement for æ -> ae  in the danish language.
it doesn't make sense that one part doesn't have this convertion where the subtitle does.

And I'm about to find out who published the english version (Harald Hardtooth) rather than Thomas Viladsen and Uffe Jakobsen. Stay tuned

As of this time, I haven't received any messages from Uffe.

Atleast the changes mentioned above is needed.

a link to the current EasyFlash files, I'm going to take a break now.

The publisher of the english Harald Hardtooth I've set as Colgate - Palmolive rather than Thomas and Uffe but it is still vague at present time which is the correct.
I hope to hear from Uffe before the next TOSEC dat release.

Ok, I received a mail from him.

Harald Hardtooth - The Fight of the Clean Teeth (1992)(Thomas Villadsen & Uffe Jakobsen)[cr X-F]

should be

Harald Hardtooth - The Fight of the Clean Teeth (1992)(Colgate - Palmolive)[cr X-F][tr en X-F]

(Tanslated by Spiderman X-Factor)
Ref: http://csdb.dk/release/?id=16406

I've noticed when browsing through the d64 collection that the trainers also had the group name in them - I didn't do that for the EasyFlash files I uploaded earlier, is it required? (I didn't get that from reading the naming convention).

@Duncan
I'm still waiting for an approval of naming before progressing, so I might not finish the batch for the up comming DAT release.

Hi there, looks good to me (but actually I'm not an expert in the tosec naming convention; cassiel is ;)). The DATs for the coming release are ready and uploaded, these have to wait until the end of the year...

@Cassiel I've named the previous uploaded EasyFlash files as
i.e. [cr Nostalgia]
I see now in the d64 section for C64 files that the cracker groups are named with a 2 or 3 letter abbreviation [cr NO]
should I do that? atm I've made 4 more but I'm stopping for now before I make more mistakes.

the same goes for trainers i.e. [t +6] I haven't added the group here as that, imo, doesn't make sense unless someone else did the training (and it seems legal from the naming convention ;-) )

Hmmm... I don't think specifically cracking groups get abbreviated, unless an abbreviation already exists (for them in use). Consistency is more important.  Duncan?
