Is anyone maintaining the Atari ST DATs? I've got some files that aren't in it and it seems over art Atari-Forum.com there are more files. I'd like to get a handle on the potential size of the "problem" before volunteerinG!!

AFAIK nobody is currently working on those dats. If you want, your help is welcomed. How many files are you talking about?

Dunno about files.. There have been lots of fixed versions of menu disks and fixed cracks etc like Falcon or HD compatible titles. I dont think they are in TOSEC and if I were to do it then I'd invite Atari-Forum members to submit the stuff to me for inclusion. Unless there is some rule against "modern" fixed versions of earlier cracks etc.

AFAIK there is no such rule. We just avoid datting too recent stuff due to copyright reasons and because many can still be on sale. Fixes and other hacks of old software (as well as PD sets) can be added without any problem.

If you wish/can, we would really appreciate that you gather those missing files and check if they are already in TOSEC (i'm sure you know about cmp or romvault). After that you should rename them according to the naming rules and add to the right folders / dats. If you find this too much, any contribution is welcomed, even if you just gather the new files to be datted (and rename them so we know what are they).

Atarti ST is a massive set, but that doesn't mean you can't contribute small and aim bigger if you choose later. Even checking/correcting any existing sets would be appreciated, I'm sure there's lots of work there to do already. For memory I think ST is one of the older DAT hierarchies we have with so-called 'unknown' ZZZ-UNK- images still included. Even getting these properly identified and renamed would be a big help.

Ah this is fun... I thought I'd clear the ZZZ-UNK files and have nearly been through them all and then I thought I'd have a play with some Automation Menu Disks.. and I found some other bits there that need renaming.

I can guess this could be like painting the Forth Bridge!!! :-)

Hello folks,

Sorry for necro'ing this old thread, but I thought it was better than starting another.

I've just downloaded the Atari ST TOSEC set from archive.org, and I've noticed that I have approx. 100 disks in my collection that aren't in the set. Who do I talk to about having them added?  *noob*

Also, I ran a duplicate file check, and there are 45 pairs of identical disk images in the collection - I presume somebody will want to delete some of them, but who do I inform?

Do you want to throw them up on any of the popular file sharing sites and PM me? Or I can provide you with an FTP to upload them to, or whatever else convenient for you really (just avoid posting link here!).
