Well, thought I join here and make a post to say 'hello' and stuff. Well, guess I'm the one guilty for the lousy quality of the DATs mentioned in the thread title now...
Will also try to get the lazy slacker that maintains the Amiga - Apps DATs now to post here :)

@PandMonium
Cheers :) We (that's 1TimE and my humble self) already tried our best to rename some disks according to TNC not recognised by the DATs for our file server over at EAB, so it seemed like a good idea to add them to 'the real deal' (tm) as well ;) 1TimE is already checked the apps DAT for more info about years and publishers. I'm still at the adding new stuff stage, but will try to improve the overall quality of the DATs on the fly and eventually once I'm done with the ones that are in the queue. Might take a bit though ;D

No really, would be neat if you could put them somewhere, so I can have a lookie ;)
P.S. : We also have quite a few disks that aren't TOSEC'ed yet ready. Will keep me busy for a while it seems...

Hi everyone.

As my humble friend has explained, we are trying to contribute with something to the community.

We have found about 1200 disks that was not present in the impressive Amiga Tosec .dat files.

For an example we have added 620 new disks to the Amiga application database, and now we are trying to update release dates and manufactures etc etc.

PS: We are new to this  ;)

Hi Aral :)
I will get to the coverdisks DAT in a bit, so I'll send you a PM maybe next weekend to arrange a file transfer 8)
Certainly feels good to do something for TOSEC after all those years of 'using' it ;D

Hi everyone.

I have uploaded my updated .dat file with all .adf files to the ftp.

Could someone please take a look at this?

Hi 1time,

I just got back from a small vacation and have a few things to do first. Have you checked it with tosec dat explorer? It will give you some feedback on most of the probable errors :)

Hi,

I have used the dat explorer and corrected all errors.

Is that enough or do i need to do anything else?

That's enough for now, there are a couple more additional tests that have to be done by me as well as some manual checks by other renamers.

1TimE - looks good, doesn't seem to be any errors.

Two quick things though:
a) 2 images have been removed compared to previous DAT. Why is this?
b) moving forward, could you also include SHA-1 in your DATs? Not essential atm, but something we are trying to include in all new DATs. See discussion here: http://www.tosecdev.org/index.php/forum/index.php?topic=238.0

Good work though, and thanks for you contributions!  :)

1time hasn't been online for quite a while now and I have to say that time here is very limited as well. mai sent me lists of missing disks, but they are all on the EAB file server. If noone else has the time, I can see if I find the time to collect them all. Sorry, but I don't think I'll be able to contribute anymore to TOSEC due to other projects taking too much time now.
