Hi all,

I found out that I own some more C64CD'96 files than are present in Tosec. I've de-doubled and renamed all the files. How do I get from this to submitting them to Tosec?

Cheers,
Duncan

Hi Duncan,

I guess you should upload them somewhere (sharebee or other place) and give me or someone the link to get those files. If you have a lot more of these unknown sets i may try to get you a place or something.
If you want to rename them accordingly and provide a cmp datfile just to those new files (+ information on what datfile they should be at) it will be highly appreciated too Smiley

Hiya,

I've recreated the whole C64CD'96 after dedoubling and renaming the files. You'll find the new dat file as attached, I hope it'll be part of the next release. The newly added files are available on torrent sites, but I can upload them if needed.
As I said before, this is my first contribution and I like to do some more renaming on Amiga and C64 sets.

Take care,
Duncan

Hi there,

I don't have much time currently but can take a look at it to give you some feedback and evaluate your work (at least related with TNC errors) Tongue
Anyway i can't get the file, the 7z seems to be corrupted (that's what winrar reports), anyone has the same problem or is just me?
Code:
!  Commodore C64 - Collections - C64CD'96 (TOSEC-v2010-02-04_CM)-2.7z: Unknown method in Commodore C64 - Collections - C64CD'96 (TOSEC-v2010-02-04_CM).dat
!  Commodore C64 - Collections - C64CD'96 (TOSEC-v2010-02-04_CM)-2.7z: Error - operation failed

The latest version of WinRar (3.91) shouldn't have a problem unpacking the file, just tried it myself. I've compressed it with 7Zip's new algorithm LZMA2.

If you're updating a DATfile then please leave the existing names in the "Author" field (author "DesertWolf - Apache") and add your name at last to it because first name is maintainer of the DATfile and following names are the DAT helper.

Also all setname are in lowercase but that shouldn't be a big problem since it'll be just some option while creating the DAT.

Just a brief look, don't know how you generated it but all the sets have an extension and shouldn't (only the romnames should have).
Also, i'm not sure if there is really the need to use upcased extensions (.D64), does it make any difference or is it more correct? I think lowercased extensions are used mostly.

That's my initial report, i'm ready for a new try, good luck Smiley

It's the default setting in CMP. Best to set up a proper 'Profile' for creating TOSEC specific DATs.

Duncan - I can share this with you if you can't work out the options in CMP you need to toggle.

Here you go....

(I've posted this here instead of responding to your PM in case any other new/potential members might find useful)

You obviously still need to fill in the fields I've 'boxed' though.

I've also included the actual CMP settings file for convenience.

Dump this in:
C:\Program Files\ClrMamePro\dir2dat\
(path may be different depending on where you've installed CMP).

Any probs then shout.....   Cool

Grrrrr...... forum won't let me post a *.D2D file.

Nevermind, I'm sure you can work it out from the screenshot...

it is not an allowed extension, don't know what that is but why don't you simply zip/rar/7z it? Tongue

Will do that later if I think of it....    Wink

Hi Guys,

Thank you all for your response, I'm getting the hang of it! Here's my, hopefully, final version.

Cheers,
Duncan
