Hello all,

I've been trying to find out some information regarding the CoCoRen system. I have 109 ROMs, but no DAT file to check them against. I've created a DAT myself, but obviously I don't know whether these ROMs are any good, or even named correctly.

Does anybody know anything about this system? I've tried a few search engines in an attempt to gather some information, but haven't been able to find anything useful.  Huh

BTW, thanks to all those involved for the new DAT release! Keep up the good work. Grin

TIA

Carlos.

The Color Computer 1-3 was created by Tandy Radio Shack and usually gets called "CoCo". Smiley
I could check the DAT later, but if you don't know about the system then I guess you couldn't load the roms into any emulator which means that your current DAT got files that are not even tested if they work.

If you do load them into the CoCo emu then make sure you're not loading the current files because the emulator could change the file (crc code then).
You'll need to copy the roms into a test folder, those will be the files you can load in emulator, the other roms will be renamed and used for the DAT.

Thanks for the reply. I did see (Tandy) in most of the game descriptions, but didn't know to which specific system they belonged. Thanks for the info Smiley

I just ran them through GoodCoCo, and it's verified that I have 109 of 109 ROMs. It appears that most of them are verified good dumps, with just a couple that are alternates or bad dumps.

Would it be worth me loading up each of the ROMs tomorrow just to check that they do all work/fail as marked? If I do, is there anything specific I need to check when I load them? I will make copies as you say just to make sure they aren't affected by the emulator.

If I do, I can provide you with a DAT file once done if you wish?  Cheesy

If you're doing a new DAT it's better to already start with checking all games 1 by 1 in the emulator, else someone might have to do it later which is really time consuming once a DAT reaches ~2000+ roms.
I don't know if there's a rule about checking a game if you already know who it published and when but in my opinion it's always better to check it, you might also want to go through some of the CoCo fansites for homebrew software and more information about some software.

I think so since "GOOD" usually called fullsets something like "name" + "Ren".

And that's why I ask. Yes, indeed Good tools make folder like [set]Ren. I just need to confirm this from Carlos. Smiley
